nothin' but time

I was lucky enough to carry over some vacation time into my next calendar year, and so with old and new vacation time, days off and a couple of personal days, I have managed to have almost 25 days off. Amazing, I know!

While you ARE working you dream of not being at work, and what you would do with the time. Now that I AM off...I've mostly caught up with all the plans and goals I have had. About halfway through my time off, I am finding myself lonely and wishing I had a friend/activity partner.

I'd love to go down to the Dells to the drive inn, or even spend a couple of nights in a really small mom & pop type motel. (They are usually so nice and friendly.) I could go alone, and I have done so in the past, but it's not the same.

The Dells is my favorite quick getaway spot.

I am going to a graduation party this weekend, and of course there is Riverfront Rendezvous and the Wausau area 4th of July Celebration at Marathon Park.

I love going to these events...sad that I always end up doing so alone. Oh well..I am grateful for the lazy time off.

Time to go sit on my shaded deck, enjoying the breeze and sounds of my water fountain.

 Enjoy yourself Sweetie. I never know what to do with free time, but I usually feel like I've squandered it somehow. Is it worth considering keeping enough vacation time in the bank for the cold months? I understand some people travel to warm places during the winter...

I get three weeks of vacation per year. Have a week saved for a trip in September and another week saved to take sometime January through May. Like you, I don't know what to do with my time, the longer I just sit here at home, I am getting depressed and do feel like I am squandering my time off. I really wish I had more friends, but then they'd all be working, so catch 22.

This is a strange situation to be in because I am usually glass half full kind of person. Think it's time I just pack a bag, pet the cat, make sure she has food...and just hit the road for a day or two.

Sometimes the most fun comes from something unplanned. And anyone that knows me KNOWS that I am a planner.
