Soooo..... AFF the only thing free is logging in?!?!? I have been and off this site for several years now... and I must say they limits content now are crazy! If you have never used the site before how would you even know if it was worth it when there is literally no way talk another person without an exorbitant ??? Not sure how much longer I will keep my profile open with things this way... it just isn't really worth it... What are your thoughts? Have you found different solutions or a reasonable middle ground? Would love hear from y'all! {=} |

Just seen the latest innovation on the poor re-vamp of the IM (why keep spending money on, forgive the pun, jazzing things up that don't need it?) - so now, if you chat with someone who goes away from screen for an hour - you know, perhaps to eat or take a phone call - you have t o pay more points to resume the conversation. And, of course, you have to pay to send a message in IM regardless of whether you get a reply - so paying 15 points for no reason in many cases. There may be a core of people who stay but I think the site's policy is driving people away. I'm certainly looking at alternatives.

The blogs are free, the chat rooms are free although hardly anyone goes in there now compared with a few years ago. But it is a commercial site, they need to make money in order to run it and the other sites under the Various brand. And they do that by charging people to use it. Given some of the offers I'm presented with on logging in, it is cheaper than some of the more mainstream dating sites. I have upgraded in the past but I wont be doing that again given their attitude, or lack of it, to data security.

There is enough advertising on the sides of the home page that the site should be all free not just log in

It is crazy but BBWMatchMate has gone by the way...you can't play unless you pay. But even if you pay you run into a lot of false updates of who viewed your profile or sent you a flirt. Oh I had a young Woman quite mad at me in Chicago but I only messaged her after I was informed she viewed my profile multiple times. Good luck to you on where you may end up...all of these dating sites seems to bring in the scam artists and fakes. Stay healthy. Soooo AFF the only thing free is logging in

You just posted a blog - how much did that cost you? When I read this post I checked your profile and you were on camera - how much did that cost you? I've been on BBWMatchMate in some form since 1999/2000, this current profile that I have goes back to 2006. It has gotten more expensive over the years. Originally, women had no limit to view and send email while men had a limit of three per day if they just did a standard membership. they ratio between women to men was 1 to 10. They also had a silver member ship that while not as extensive as a gold a man could view and send emails at a lesser cost. you use to be able to view someones cam with a standard membership as well, but that ended a few years ago. Problem is so many of the profiles on here are fake, and even some of the gold ones who I'll get flirts from turn out to be a cam girl or another website. I guess I keep my gold membership going just out of habit. There are a few friends and bloggers who I do interact with, problem is they are also far away.

I believe the ad says free to join. It is a business so maybe just maybe they want to make money. There is things that is free. Humans are the most dangerous animals on earth. If only animals had the ability to know when to keep away from us humans they would be better off.
