Things We Remember From Childhood Books

Madeline L'Engle said, “You have t.o write the that wants t.o be written. And if the will be too difficult for grown-ups, then you write it for .”

’s books are full of timeless advice. Often we forget they are as we become hardened by experience. We find explanations for why things are the way they are and we lose our sense of wonderment.

Those books we enjoyed as often will be put on shelves .to gather dust until our or grandchildren discover them.

Often, it takes the simpleness of a story meant for little ones to remind us of what is really important. We should treasure them.

Sometimes, when I am feeling down, I look at that stuffed bear and remember some of his wisest quotes that have carried me through life.

What children's books made an impression on you that you are reminded of as an adult?

Mother Goose had some interesting and educational anecdotes.
To this day I have NO desire to put kids into an oven. 🤔

They have such great books for children, I have given my grandchildren so many books that they have enjoyed over the years. And your so right it is the simplest things in life that are the most important things in life.

I hope you enjoy your evening..

Seduce the mind and see what a wonderful adventure the body will take you on..

Things we read as children leave an impression that we don't always know or understand at that time.

I have been a life-long avid reader. Many adults actually go back and re-read some of the children's classics and see them in a very different light.

No doubt the children are grateful.

Since I don't have grandchildren, I have given my daughter books that were memorable to me and also the ones that she also enjoyed growing up.

Yes that is so true! Sometimes we edit them as we get older to suit the situation and our needs but often go back to re-visit.

Yes of course! There are so many 'classic' stories we can draw life lessons from.
