AN INCIDENT AT THE SWIMMING POOL


While in France last week, I wanted to go swimming in Lyon’s riverside lido. Outside the lido, I joined a very long queue. There were two police officers and two security guards searching bags. I thought that they are searching bags to stop people taking food and drink into the lido, so I resigned myself to having my cans of drink confiscated.

After nearly an hour of queuing, a security guard frisked my bag and then asked me to remove the bag’s contents. He then asked me whether I wanted to swim; I said yes. He then asked me to show him my swimwear. I held up my black swimming shorts. The guard said that I was not allowed to swim in my shorts; he then escorted me back onto the street. My crime was that I had a pair of swimming shorts and not a pair of swimming trunks. A new law had just been passed requiring men to wear swimming trunks in public swimming pools. I should have worn Tom Daley's budgie-smugglers!

This was not the first time I have been banned from a swimming pool. Once wearing my Speedo swimming trunks, I was banned from the pool after the letter ‘S’ had fallen off my trunks!

I once was thrown out of a casino for having a very small rip in my jeans. I had phoned beforehand to check on the casino’s dress code; the casino assured me that jeans were allowed but, as it turned out, not jeans with a rip. Also, I was denied entry into a club for wearing trainers (or, as Americans say, sneakers), and I was refused entry back into a bar for smoking on the ‘wrong’ side of a public street!

 Never had pool incident!
Got kicked out of a National Park here for a year, but it was liquor related!

Dr S you are dreadful. lol I had to read that TWICE to understand what you meant !!!

It does remind me of a time when I was about 10yo. I was swimming underwater in a public pool when a noticed an older man in th water, with his penis out of his togs. I went and got my friends, and we all swam around him having a look.
Looking back now, we must have made his day.

Was the old man's penis deliberately out of his togs?
If not, everyone in the pool was happy!

Oh yes, it was deliberate.
He had the top of them pulled down, and tucked under his penis.
There is no way that could have happened by accident. lol

Funny thing is, these days, that poor old guy would get hauled off by the police and charged with something.
He didn't do any harm though, and gave a few little girls a funny story to tell.
