Boston Beach Day for Progressives - 12 July 2014 - Carson Beach

Looking to meet like-minded progressives while working on your tan? Well, bring your sunscreen - we'll be soaking up the sun for justice at Carson Beach, 600 William Day Blvd in South Boston on Saturday, July 12th!

A fun day at the beach near Andrew Square T Station is being organized by the 'meet up' group "Social Justice." People from non-profits, unions, Gay Rights groups, Trans Rights groups, and other socially progressive left groups have a chance to simply mingle and talk in an 'off duty' atmosphere. Bring your blanket and sunblock for this outdoor party at a public beach. Carson Beach, 600 William Day Blvd. in South Boston. That's Saturdday, 12 July! The group plans to be there from 11am-1pm so, stop by anytime. Find the group at the beach by looking for the large group of people in front of the first parking lot on the water. Someone check the tides. Plan ahead and bring snacks and maybe a dish to share. There is also a snack bar near the parking lot. This is an open to anyone event. Cheerful low key conversation more like a cook-out than a political meeting. This is a tolerant crowd and supports rights for all, including trans folk. But, it is a public beach, so, tone it down. Family friendly, so if you like and sandcastles you can bring your plastic pail and shovel. Dogs can only come as far as the boardwalk - but - it's a long, wide boardwalk. Good for a run. Or rollerblades - it's cement.

Never been to Carson Beach? Check out all the amenities!

DIRECTIONS: Take the Red Line to JFK/UMass. Exit the station to your right. Take the second exit of the rotary (or go straight through) and walk towards the beach. * Public Parking: Free public parking is available. * Bus: Take MBTA Route 5, 8, 11, 16, or 41.

Always wear sun block - sun exposure is dangerous.
